- Work in pairs. Read the following dialogues. Mind your pronunciation and intonation.

1.1 — Excuse me.
— Yes?
— Which is the quickest way to the centre, please?
— Let me think …. Oh yes. Take a 26 bus and go as far as Trafalgar Square.
— Will that be the very centre of London ?
— Yes. That’s the very centre of London.
1.2 — Excuse me.
— Yes? Can I help you?
— I’ m a stranger in London and I’m completely lost.Could you, please, tell me the way to Piccadilly Circus ?
— Picadilly Circus? Well, look here.I’m going in the same direction myself and I can show you the way there.
— Oh, thank you. It’ s very kind of you.
1.3 –Excuse me … Can you tell me the shortest way to the railway station?
— Let me think. Go along this street and take the first turning on your left.
1.4 –Does this bus go to the Central Stadium?
— I’ m afraid not. You should take an 8 bus.
1.5 — Am I right for the Grand Hotel?
— Yes.
— Is it far from here?
— Oh, no. It’s just round the corner.
1.6 – Where do I get off to reach the supermarket?
— You must get off at the next stop.
1.7 — How can I get to the bank?
— It’ s the second street to the right from here.
1.8 – Where is the nearest bus stop?
— Turn around the corner. It’ s not far from here.
